MUSIC EXAMS
Studio PAVAS’ music students who wish to take music exams can do so through the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM). Students of all ages study and prepare for their exams during the school year, from September to June, during their music lessons.
The RCM examinations are intended to be a positive and developmental experience. Practical examinations are conducted in a friendly and professional atmosphere on a one-on-one basis, where students are tested on the performance of repertoire, studies and technique with their instrument of choice. Ear training and sight reading requirements help develop and reinforce solid musicianship skills. Theory examinations, designed to complement practical studies are written in a formal classroom setting. The RCM theory requirements ensure a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of music theory. The fees for the exams are in addition to regular lesson fees and are paid at the time of booking the adjudication dates.
